A video taken by a Ukrainian spy drone captured the moment an US-made Bradley came up against one of Russia's best tanks, the T-90M, on the battlefield.

The Russian T-90M Breakthrough, the most modern tank in use by the Russian army, is designed to take on other main battle tanks - and win. 

It therefore should be more than capable of taking out the US-made Bradley.

But the video, filmed to the north of the eastern city of Avdiivka, showed an unexpected outcome when the two armoured vehicles clashed head-to-head.

The footage, taken in early January, shows T-90M opening fire on the Bradley, but missing its target. In response, the Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) peppers the Russian tank with its 25mm Bushmaster chain gun, hitting its turret and hull.

The tank fires a second shot, but the Bradley is seen to have moved into cover just in time for the tank round to sail past and hit a nearby building.

The Bradley keeps firing as it moves, helped by its high-tech sensors, before another Bradley - hidden nearby - takes up the attack.

The crew of the second Bradley is seen switching to an unconventional tactic, giving it the battlefield superiority over their Russian foes.
