THREE MORE MEN CHARGED AFTER CITY CENTRE UNREST

Another three men have been charged with violent disorder as detectives continue to investigate a city centre protest which turned volatile.

Tom Thompson-Arnold, 30, of Clevedon, Thomas Medler, 24, of Lockleaze, and Mohamed Osman, 37, of Easton, are all due to appear at Bristol Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

Avon and Somerset Police have arrested 41 people as part of the investigation into the unrest in Bristol's city centre on Saturday 3 August.

Hundreds of far-right protesters and a counter-protest group gathered for two demonstrations near Castle Park on 3 August when widespread disorder broke out.

A total of 28 people have been charged, with nine handed prison sentences.

Police have issued a warning to others involved in the unrest to expect a “knock on the door soon".

A number of demonstrations took place across England after high tensions over the killing of three young girls in Southport, Merseyside, on 29 July, with false claims spread online about the person responsible.
